Inner Ocean Collective X Michael Hallock
  • Bethany
Bethany is an interdisciplinary creative, a lifelong student of movement, and a creature of the water—hailing from turtle island. Her excitement for dance brought her to study at the Indonesian Academy of Arts in 2016, where she began ongoing collaborations with international and Indonesian artists and performers around the volcano-dotted island of Java. Over the course of a decade she’s passionately studied traditional/contemporary dance and martial arts, as well as the therapeutic practices of yin yoga, freediving, contact improvisation and Aquatic Bodywork (Healing Dance). Since moving to the mystic waters of Bali, Bethany has co-founded Inner Ocean Collective, a women centered cooperative of somatic movement facilitators, bodyworkers, and sound healers, together utilizing water as a tool for compassionate self-inquiry and collective remembrance.
  • Anika
Co-founder of Inner Ocean Collective, Anika was initially drawn to healing modalities as a respite from her demanding corporate career in Australia. In 2016, she made the decision to transition from Finance to become a yoga teacher in Melbourne, where she experienced a profound transformation in her approach to both movement and life. Adding various healing modalities to her training such as Theta Healing, Aquatic Bodywork (Healing Dance), Breathwork and Body-Mind Centering, Anika's aspiration is to inspire the expansion of our innate ability to feel and experience each moment fully, as it is. A gentle and loving space holder, Anika dedicates her life to create and curate a safe space, especially for women to feel confident to speak their authentic voice and move their body.

  • Nathania
Nathania has a diverse background, having grown up in both Indonesia and Australia with a family deeply involved in preserving traditional Minahasan culture and contributing to the modern Indonesian music scene. Her passion for interdisciplinary arts, music, movement, psychology, and connection to nature has led her to explore, study, and travel extensively. After experiencing the sudden loss of a family member in 2019, Nathania rekindled her love for music, completing a Diploma of Sound Therapy in 2022. Additionally, she has pursued certifications in Yin and Ayurvedic training in Kerala, India and is currently studying Heartself Intelligence Meditation and its applications in transpersonal psychology under the tutelage of Dr. Margret Rueffler.

  • Xandra
Xandra walked away from her corporate career almost 20 years ago to become a full-time mom and travel the world with her family, finally settling in Bali in 2014. Along this journey, she faced personal challenges that led her to deeply reconnect with herself, embracing Reiki, yoga, Ayurveda, breathing practices, and Shamanism. Her encounter with the transformative power of water during a Water Journey became a healing source and reflection of her inner journey. Through these experiences, she discovered the potential of her body, mind, and soul, which she now incorporates into her sessions, using the shamanic drum to integrate teachings and wisdom into her approach, inspiring others on their paths of self-discovery and personal growth.

  • Michael
Known affectionately as “Michael Watsu”, Michael is a Watsu therapist and a teacher of the Healing Dance form of aquatic bodywork. He approaches the therapy as an art form, and each session is an intuitive dance unfolding deeper connection with oneself. A pioneer of aquatic bodywork in Asia Pacific, Michael resides in Bali and teaches internationally.
